WEIGHT LOSS
The
medical rule of halves applies perfectly to weight loss. If you take 100 people
and offer them a weight reduction program, half will accept. Only half of those
who accept will follow it, in turn, half of them will get a benefit and then
only half will maintain it in the long term. To date most approaches to fat in the Western World have focused on the
changing behaviour of individuals - on diet and exercise - and cumulatively
these have had little or no impact. The United Kingdom has just come up with a
new strategy to try to turn the obesity epidemic around. As described in a
report by the House of Commons Health Committee, the strategy promotes
government rather than individual responsibility for the problem. It says the
solution lies with the state implementing measures to make weight loss
possible. It recommends measures including the simpler labelling of food with red,
yellow and green symbols categorising healthfulness. It suggests banning vending
machines and school sponsorships by companies associated with unhealthy foods
and calls for the voluntary participation of the food industry in
anti-obesity initiatives. Even a small weight loss can make a dramatic difference. Imagine a big tub of
lard spilling over. What is causing the trouble is the spillage. All you need to
do is lose enough to stop the spill. If you maintain the loss, the tub
shrinks over time and you have to keep further spillage at bay. The most
efficient way to do this is with a combination of diet and
exercise. CLICK TO ORDER ECA STACK WEIGHT LOSS
